How I accidentally became a systems person

Desk with a laptop, coffee and a standard operating procedures checklist

Early on, I carried every client detail in my head. It worked until it didn't. One quiet mistake — a missed follow-up on a warm lead — taught me that reliability is part of the service, not a bonus on top of it.

Writing things down changed the work

I started documenting every recurring task. Not because I love process, but because I wanted the same quality on a busy week as on a calm one. Then something unexpected happened: the documentation made the work easier to explain, easier to delegate, and easier for clients to trust.

You shouldn't have to chase your marketer to know what's happening.

What I believe now

Strategy without delivery is a document. Delivery without structure is stress. The interesting work sits in the middle: a plan that's specific enough to execute, and a system that keeps it running when life gets busy.
